Here I Am!

You heard the Wicked Witch of the West shriek, "I'm melting" when she was splashed with water. Well, I am yelling it too....yet wish I was being splashed with water.  It is so crazy here.  Mornings the cool air is blowing goosebumps across your arms and legs.  But the afternoons have you stuck to the chair where you have become part of the grime and dust of the room.  Why?  Global warming?  Massive lack of home insulation?  No air conditioning blowing?  Well, yes to all of that. It is in the 60's here in the mornings and is 100 in the shade this afternoon.  As in the words of Charlie Brown......
AAAARRRRRUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

But other than that.  It is beautiful weather for many things.  My laundry hanging out on the line is drying in a jiffy.  Some things are done by the time I have finished hanging up the full load.  Princess Emma says it is really nice and cool under the big ol oak tree while swinging on the horse swing.  But she says I can't swing as I am just a lil too big.  Darn the luck.  Yesterday evening we introduced our Gentleman to playing Chicken Foot with the dominos.  We were out on the big ol front porch with a cool breeze blowing across.  It was quite a nice way to spend an evening.  And I can spend a lil time in the afternoons, laying in the bed reading one of my latest books.  Dreaming of some place cooler than here for sure.

I also have my winners in the Chicken Soup for the Soul giveaway.  If you did not leave a comment there then you did not get to enter.  DARLENE, this means you have to stop lurking and jump on in here with us.  Leave a comment with your way of contact and you could have had a new book on it's way to you.   Yeah, I know, you are thinking about it.  But our 3 winners are:

Gimpe10 who said that she recommends exercise and lots of water for the new mom to be.

ALWAYS remember when you look at the MIRACLE, you are looking at the face of an angel from God!! LOTS of snuggles, and kisses too!!  This was tassynutt's comment. Congrats on this Kat. Glad you finally made it by here.

Giant Sis said... I would remind her to ask for help! No one expects her to do it all by herself, but they might not want to offer too much help so they don't offend her. She doesn't have to try to be a superhero - she already IS one! Always love hearing from you. Glad you will have a new CSftS coming your way soon.

Gifts for A Lot of Readers

Today we are starting out on a lighter note. I am wanting to share another of my gift guide selections with you.  (Honestly, I have been pretty stressed and need to share some good with all.)

So lets start by looking at The Secret Life of Louie V.  This is told in a children's book about a Siamese cat, Louie V, who's mischievous caper is set to make children smile.  We all know that those lazy felines do not just sleep all day.  No they are on adventures all the time.  In this book Louie explores his owners closet while she is out for the day.  The next book has Louie V in Louie V Takes the Cake.  You can visit Louie at his website and share quizzes, blog and activities with your kiddos.   A portion of each sale of this book goes to help with 3 different charities, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Autism Speaks and VH1 Save the Music Foundation.  So you can give a gift to your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews while sharing a gift with many others in supporting these organizations.  Pretty good deal if you ask me.

DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy of this book to facilitate this review. No other compensation was provided.

I also have some giveaways to share with you.  In Mummy Mazes we have two winners.  Here our two winners are:

Beautiful post Lynette :) Miracles... Very insightful question depending on how you look at it... Through battling bi-polar, rape, drug abuse, getting clean, falling off the wagon twice and climbing back on, marriage to my best friend, that same best friend adandoning me for another woman, 2 beautiful boys one of which no longer speaks to me, homelessness, carless, penniless one thing has always stayed the same - His love for me, no matter that I turned away from it, when I was ready to come, He opened His arms for me, He helped me to become a woman I never thought I could be and now He is allowing my testimony to be used for others...To help them overcome anything through Him. (((Hugs))) Next our winner is:

Hey Kiddo! MY final comment for this give-away. Earlier I stated that my biggest challenge is letting God have "FREE reign on my life to handle my problems, because I keep wanting to do it myself. Well, really I guess I got these questions out of order. What gets me through my Hard Times is Knowing that I do have a God to depend on. Knowing that things will be better off if I just leave them alone and go to God and ask Him to handle whatever the problems are. He already knows them but we have to invite Him into the situations or (our life) to intervene. I sometimes forget that part and wonder why He didn't just automatically do it. Of Course I know the answer to that, but that is for another "book". LOL!
    Love ya bunches!

I'm Here---Again!

Hey there all my wonderful friends. Sorry I disappeared for a bit. I have to say dealing with depression is never fun. But when it just takes the legs right out from under you--then it is even harder to get back up and running. Well I am trying my best. Please forgive my absence from here and from visiting you. I am working very hard to get myself healthy again. In the meantime I have a lil housekeeping to take care of.

First I have two winners to announce. For the two books of "Feeding Penny Pig and "I'm Up in a Tree" the winner is:
Theresa N. said... Gosh a book that encourages saving sounds wonderful!! I will be sending you an email right away too!
Our second winner to celebrate 100+ followers we have:
PJ said... Congrats on your 100 followers! I'm glad to be one of them! Your froggy is adorable!
Love ya Bunches! OMG Pattie! Whoot and double whoot. I will have a gift for you really really soon. Something patterned for you from me.

Now since I have been so out of it lately, I feel like I can not even trust myself at times. Have you felt that way? Well what do you do when you begin to trust the men you have relationships with? Do you rely on your "woman's intuition'? Or do you ask questions behind their backs? I know that I am in wonderful relationship now but have had those relationships that was not healthy for me. Could I have done something to know "Is He Lying to You?" before hand? Well Dan Crum, an ex-CIA polygraph examiner has written a book just to help in that situation. He has over 101 examples of deception that men use. You can also see clues to know when to pull the plug on a date. Is there a "magic" question to trap a liar. Well Dan thinks he has the answers for you. "Dan Crum provides a unique and provocative insight into the minds of men and what they don't want you to know."
--Barry McManus, CIA Chief Polygraph Examiner and Interrogator (Ret.) I am aware that many relationships are healthy and happy. But at times we really do need to tune into who we are with and if all is on the up and up. If your unsure then you may want to check out "Is He Lying to You?"

And weather it be for donuts, relationships or God we all have those empty spots we are looking to fill. The secret is to know if we are filling them with the right items? I want to thank Chris for sharing "Crave: Wanting So Much More of God" with me and hosting this giveaway!
