I am still out of town hanging with my College Girl. And as it always happens, we forgot one thing...well just not enough of one thing. Can you believe it? She needed an extra bra. Well of course no biggie, we went looking. But first we had to find what she wanted. So we looked online. And did we ever find some doozies.
College Girl said this one would hold her over for snack time. I know several lil girls who would want this one too. The Candy Bra.
Ok I think I have almost seen every thing. Have you? Well here is a new one for us shoppers who want to help save the environment. And create a lil environment of our own. I just know it would raise a few eyebrows when I pull this off to convert.
But we really did like all the ones we found at EdenFantasys. This one would make a great swim suit if it just had the bottoms to go under the lil skirt.
And we can even have our jewelry built right in. Actually can see this working with a nice suit dress. Would be just the right touch of bling.
Sad to say we had to go with form and function. Just a plain ol everyday bra. But I know for a fact that College Girl has picked out several online she wants. Guess it is time for me to shop for something a lil more fun and lil less function. Gosh they grow up so fast!
I want to say thanks so to EdenFantasys for letting me browse. And more so for sponsoring this post. What a joy to shop and dream at the same time.
Sunday Sillies
I am greatly enjoying my visit in Dallas. Sunday I was lucky enough to go to an art fair. It was hot but bright and beautiful. I thought I would share some of the interesting parts with you.
I loved the color and whimsey of this painting. And love the technique with painting of the shadows too.
Now if a car has ever been bedazzled, this has to be the winner.
This is a metal flower garden. Jut the kind I could grow.
Pink and all woman....love this fun funky car.
And last but never least is the message of Love that was painted on the hood of another car. It is what makes the world go round.
Busy Week
Hey there! I sure have missed everyone here. How has it been going in my abscense? I hope everyone made themselves at home here. And I am still off on my adventures right now too. But have a moment to share what all is going on.
College Girl is now in Dallas working on her internship program. Hotter than hades too. She said that yesterday her fingernail polish was melting right off of her nails. Can you believe that? Amazing! And she will be working outdoors all summer. Thankfully she is staying well hyradeted.
I am having a nice time visiting with my friend. We have not been able to just hang out for the longest time. This is a great decompression time before my California trip. Oh there is so much to share with you of all that is going on at that time. I can't wait. But back to the present.
I have done a lil shopping too. Found me a lovely 14kt gold piece for my "Marilyn Monroe" beauty mark. I am hoping that the place will finally finish healing now. Silly metal allergies bother me. Oh and I am sporting my bright SLAPwatch. It is bright pink and I love it. Such fun and reminds me of my youth. Have you seen them? And not pricey either at $19.95. The SLAP Jr. has all the numbers on the face and is $17.95. Of course I love the color. But better yet, you can get different bands and just switch out the watch face from one to the other. It goes on like the slap bracelet of my youth. This is made of a silicone so it does not break me out. I love that! Wonder what colors you would like to mix up. They have tons of color combinations available.
Today I am going to off to see a art fair. Hang with CG and my friends. And help another sweetie move. So it going to be a busy busy day. I will not be home again til the 7th of June. So you will see me off and on. But I will keep you posted of what is all going on.
Oh and remember to enter those giveaways in the right column. I am going to be finding winners soon and you would hate to miss out!
And as always, any item I review is not a paid review. But my thoughts on that item are all my own. I may be provided with the item to have it to review but that is all.

I had a complete post written here. It was done through my cell phone an mobile web. But alas it did not post.
Gnomes 'R Here! Giveaway
It has been a busy weekend for us. Hope you enjoyed yours. We traveled to see our grandbabes for their birthday. Dropping off gifts for them, their mom's housewarming gift and the baby shower gifts too. I feel all gifted out! But loved seeing them. And hearing my granddaughter hollering Nonnie, Nonnie, NONNIE! It made me feel amazing. She noticed I had once again changed my hair color and pronounced that it was not red enough. Guess we will change that when she comes to see me in June. I am looking forward to having the babes here then. I miss them so very much.
I have a copy of Gnomeo & Juliet to share with them. (It comes out on DVD tomorrow!) I was so excited for it to get here. Been waiting over a year to get to see it. Sir Elton John worked hard on this project and you can hear his music all through it. PERFECTO! The story of Romeo & Juliet is a classic love story that is so darling set in these lovely English garden scenes. I have the Blu-Ray & DVD set. As a matter of fact I have a spare even. Yeppers. Sure do. So I can split this all up. One for College Girl (she has a Blu-Ray), one for the grandbabes (DVD copy works great there). That leaves a copy to split up for you to share. YEAH! So I am going to give you a lil teasers here. Then I am going to tell you how to win your copy.
First off if you can't wait there is $5.00 off coupon for the triple disc set. Also in the film the gnomes battle with lawn mower races. Never knew gnomes could be so redneck. But they are not the only ones. The U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association (the organization that turned a weekend chore into a national competitive sport!) continued their 2011 STA-BIL racing season with the Gnomeo & Juliet Mow-down Showdown this last weekend.. Riders dressed as the film’s iconic red and blue feuding gnome families. Pretty cool, I know that with my girth I could pass as a gnome mommy easy! You can also let the kiddos play at the website with games, downloads and activities.
Okay to win YOUR choice of Blu-Ray or DVD of Gnomeo & Juliet you have to first be a follower of my blog. You can do that with Goggle Friend Connect over in the right hand column. Leave me a comment letting me know your a follower. That is your first entry. Extra entries can be had by doing any of the following.

Gifts Galore and Giveaway
It is all a haze for me right now. I have gifts this way and that way. And trying to figure out what to do with the rest of them. Tomorrow is the trip to the Grandbabes and I am wrapping all around. Oh, I am going to share with you too!
So let's look at the last of the gifts for a 3 yr old and 7 yr old. Tell me what do you think about them. Our 7 year old girl loves to read and I love to give her books. And it is something my grandmother did with me too. I am including 'My Best Friend, Abe Lincoln-A Tale of Two Boys from Indiana'. It has always been wonderful to share the story of Honest Abe with kids. Teaching them so many moral lessons from a man that has been admired for ages. In this book we have a fictional best friend that is sharing what it was like to grow up with Abe. The second extra love here is the illustrations by John W. Ewing. He has done art work for Disney films including Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Book. I promise you will not be let down.
I also have 3 books from Dinosaur Train to share with both children. I just know that they will love these as some of their bed time reading. Pretty great that their mom does that for them. These are part of Get Caught Reading, a nationwide campaign to remind people of all ages how much fun it is to read. May is Get Caught Reading month, but the campaign is promoted throughout the year. Get Caught Reading is supported by the Association of American Publishers (AAP).

The Buddy & Friends board book, from Grosset & Dunlap, join Buddy as he travels aboard the DINOSAUR TRAIN to introduce kids to some of his friends. Packed with full-color images from the show, this simple book is a perfect introduction to DINOSAUR TRAIN's many species! SRP $5.99. Ages 3–5.
A Surprise for Mom!, from Grosset & Dunlap, is a beautiful picture book that follows Buddy and his siblings as they begin to plan something special for Mrs. Pteranodon on her special day. Read along as Team Pteranodon searches high and low for the best gifts ever! SRP $3.99. Ages 3–5.
Tiny Learns to Fish, from Grosset & Dunlap. The first reader in the Dinosaur Train program follows Mr. Pteranodon as he takes the kids to the big pond to teach them how to fish. There's just one problem. Tiny can't catch a fish, and Buddy can't fly, so they team up to catch fish together! This Level 1 reader is perfect for young fans, who are starting to read on their own. SRP $3.99. Ages 3–5.
I also know how much they love music. Especially since the dad to my grandson is an accomplished musician. So we put in Star Rock for Kids! This is a compilation of songs created by Lisa Damiani who is a 1989 Star Search Winner. (Yeah showing my age there!) There are songs on here that I would sing along with too. Weather it be Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy to We Got the Beat to my all time favorite teen angst song, I Will Survive. So many different eras here sung by kids from the ages 7 to 17 years old. Of course I am going to have to beat Princess Emma off of this one. She is such a DIVA singer.
I shared a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Mickey Mote with the kids at Christmas. I have another to give them, thus they will have one each. This one will be with the DVD of Mickey's Great Outdoors. I love that there is both a DVD in this and a digital copy so they can see it on the computer and portable players too. We played with the Mickey Mote during the holidays and had so much fun. Mickey's Great Outdoors is perfect with summer arriving. I love the idea of camping out at the lake and fishing too. Did you know that the young ones do not need a fishing license either (but you do!).
I also want to introduce the kids to some of Nickelodeon's original shows. College Girl's favorite was The Wild Thornberrys. Watching as this family traveled the world looking for rare animals. And Eliza (the youngest) has the gift to speak with the animals. There was so many great lessons learned during her days of Nickelodeon. Did you have favorites that you watched? Was it Jimmy Neutron or Hey Arnold? Mine was the early days when we watched Ren & Stimpy. I am so happy that I have all of season one on DVD. The grandbabes love movie time. And having several shows of the series to help when they are tired and need some down time. I use that period to get some of my household chores done.
Another of College Girl favorites was the Veggie Tales. It was a teen youth group show that sparked many sing-a-longs. Great fun and wholesome entertainment too. The grandbabes get to have the new Veggie Tales Live! DVD with 18 silly songs on it. I think the pick-a-song singalongs will be fun to watch with the grandbabes. Such lil super star! Now this being a 'live' event (for fake veggies?) we have a whole stage crew that interacts with the whole gang. And yes they are all there with Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato. College Girl is hoping that the Song of the Cebu will be on there. But she would be willing to get up and show off during The Dance of the Cucumber. I am hoping that I get to hear The Bunny Song. Did you have any favorites from the Veggie Tales? You can see a lil of what is to right here.
Top it off.....we have one to giveaway! Yeah sure enough. You can share this with your kiddos too. Just leave me a comment with you fav veggie tales song. And make sure I have a way to contact you when you win! My fingers are crossed just for you....oh and you too....oh and way way way in the back there.....yeah, you too!

Last of the Baby Shower Gifts
Good morning everyone! It sure has been a busy week here. How about with you? We have a revolving door on the house right now it seems. With 7 adults here and schedules all up and down. Gosh you never know what is happening from one moment to the next.
This weekend we are going to go to Waco and have a combined visit for both of our grandbabes birthdays and the turtle baby shower. It has all been going on this month but instead of three trips we are doing ours all in one. I have tons of stuff to take, you know I have been telling you all about it. But my last minute additions are "The Pregnancy Test" to help out the new momma. I think she will be thrilled with this one. It has 150 of those questions we do not want to ask out loud. And most of all, the answers too! You know the ones....can I ride a horse, is it okay to burn scented candles and why do my nipples sting. Odd ones for sure but they cross our mind when we are thinking of our unborn. What ones did you have or hear. The one I have always hated hearing was that cats were dangerous to newborns. Of course we would not have them sleeping in the crib with them. But they are not going to suck the life out of them.
Another one for them is "First Time Dad" to help out for my step son. John Fuller of Focus on the Family helped put this together. You think mom's have questions, well new dads are just as nervous. It is great though to have a book to help you when your not sure of your role. A new baby sure takes up a lot of time and thought, but the role of Daddy is one of great power and responsibility. You may get to teach your son to toss a football or help your daughter ride a bike. But you will always be the one they look to for guidance, security and love. Having a lil reminder of the role a dad plays is never a bad thing. Also in all of those new task he also has to remember to love that wonderful woman who helped herald those kiddos into the world. I have two of these books so I plan on giving one for the baby shower...and yes give the other away. I will remind you at the bottom of this post.
Another thing we are working on here is helping The Gentleman get his blood sugar levels down. A whole new shopping trip this last week helped reform the kitchen. We looked at sugar levels and sugar alcohol levels on everything. Too bad I can not see how much sugar is added when you eat a carb. We know those change too. But some good finds were had and great changes where made. With the help in diet change and medication his sugar levels are down from 700 (yes that high!) to 200. We even hit 129 once! So that is a great difference. One of the things that we found that he loves to eat is Quaker Cinnamon Oatmeal Squares. They have 9 grams of sugar so it is not an everyday item. But it is a whole grain so that is a major plus. I also like that it has 90% of his required iron in one serving too. I have to say they tasted great right out of the box as a snack too. We had tried two small single serving size boxes at first. So the luck was that there was a $1.00 coupon on each. Saved when we bought the big boxes for our Gentleman. The other benefit was College Girl likes them. She hates to eat oatmeal, says it is a texture thing. But she loved these. So she is also getting her fiber, iron and taste great
too!
Well guess I will get to work on the house work. Oh and don't forget you can win "First Time Dad". Just leave me a comment. Make sure you have a way to reach you in the comment to. Just tell me a good dad helpful hint. I can pass them on to my step son!

Spontaneity is in the Bag
Summer fun is coming up. We are gearing up around here for time with our grandbabes, Princess Emma and the great nieces and nephews to visit. Of course we do not have kiddos in the house every day so there are a few things we need to plan for. Along with lil road trips that we will get to do from time to time. I have been so lucky as to have some great ideas shared with me. So of course, I am going to share with you too.
First I loved getting a spontaneity bag ready for the car. Convert a hanging travel cosmetic case into a case full of fun and hang it from the seat back in front of the kids’ seats. We filled it with travel packs of crayons, coloring books, mini toys (like from the fast food joints), snacks that can handle hanging in the car and bottles of water with sports tops on them. Some of the snacks I included were Twizzlers Candy or Twizzlers Nibs Candy since they are one of our favorite non fat candies. There are also Lances Peanut Butter and Cheese Cracker packages too. I have to giggle as I have seen the grandbabes trying to make different 'works of art' with the pull n peel Twizzlers. Have you ever done this?
I also have short day trip ideas on a note pad in the glove box. There are kites in the trunk along with some great kick balls. I have looked up online all the different things we can do in this area. So yes, there is the local park. But we can also do the lake for a day swim trip. Pop over to a local dairy to see how it works and they also make cheese there. We have a several big game sites in this area too where we can see wild animals that are uncommon for the area.
Parenting expert Colleen Burns was kind enough to talk to me recently. It was even video taped. So I will let you see her great tips for yourself. She was willing to answer my questions for simple games and outdoor activities on a budget. Colleen also explain how to prepare a “spontaneity bag” for spur-of-the-moment summer fun and she gave tips for getting my kiddos out into nature whether it’s in the backyard, the neighborhood or off the beaten path. Thankfully we currently have all the grass out of our front yard. So it is a massive dig site for the kids. Tons of buckets and shovels are on the porch with the ever present sidewalk chalk and bubble toys.
Here is Colleen. Yes, that is my funny twangy voice on the phone with her. If you want to try and win your own Lance sponsored Spontaneity Bag, pop over and share your own tips with them.
By the way I am entering a contest for a Twizzlers Landmark Summer promotion prize pack as a member of the Mom Bloggers Club.

A Cooking We Will Go Giveaway
A cooking we will go, a cooking we will go....hi, ho, and derry oh.....a cooking we will go! Who wants to join me? Well I have 4 cookbooks here and one of them I am going to give away to you. It is a signed copy by Chef Richard Chamberlain on The Healthy Beef Cookbook. It was put together by him and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and the American Dietetic Association. Betsy Hornick also helped get it going too. I love that the favorite recipes have been marked with tabs already too. It also has Chef Chamberlain's famous steak rub that he uses at Chamberlain's Steak and Chop House. Pretty cool, huh? If you want to win this one then read on to the end of this post. I will tell you how to enter! Now on to some others to share with you. As you know I am excited about the future grandbabe, The Turtle, who will arrive this summer. I am putting "Best Food for Your Baby & Toddler" in the gift bag for the baby shower this month. As a new mom, I am sure that she will be thrilled to have a few guidelines to help out. I know it was something I read about when my own was a lil one. I love that this is broken down by age range, types of food and has thousand of facts inside to help you understand your choices. There is more than 150 recipes and snacks inside too. That is enough to help any mom know what to fix for a meal. Add in information on breastfeeding, organic foods, allergies and how to start early to prevent childhood obesity....just chalk full of great information.
My other favorite is 'Simple Food for Busy Families'. I have several food allergies and am always having to adapt recipes. I love that this book has mix and match ideas that I can go to. Taking out what I can not eat and adding in the flavors I love. Makes cooking much more of an individual taste. Add in the education that is here on types of food, nutrition available from different foods and how to make quick wholesome meals, you have a winner of a book here. This is not a cookbook per say. It is a kitchen text book that I feel most moms would be thankful for. The whole life nutrition approach is not just for your children as it is for your complete family.
Next, in keeping with family healthy food, is ever so sweet and sexy Mario Lopez with the 'Extra Lean Family' cookbook. Here we have over 50 20 minute recipes that we can pop out for our family on a nightly basis. If your stuck on what to cook, this book has a week by week menu available with the recipes right there. Naturally lean and healthy meals that have lots of color and textures. This helps make appealing meals. Each week has a grocery list included and are easy to put together. Not wanting to get stuck in a rut, there are double duty meal variations where you use the same ingredients and get two different dishes from them. Add in the steps to control you weight and have metabolism-boosting ideas, it is a win-win cookbook. For those super busy homes that need guidance for meal time, this is the cookbook you want to look at.
Now for winning that wonderful cookbook at the top, The Healthy Beef Cookbook. Here you go! I was thrilled to attend the Appetite for Inspiration event in Austin held at the Texas Beef Council. It was FUN! So if you will be so kind as to pop over for a visit at the Texas Beef Council. Come back and tell me something you found there. Then your entered. Make sure I have your email too! You can get an extra entry if you add Texas Beef Council to your twitter account with @TxBeef. Give me the info where you added them and sent out a tweet shout out! There you have two entries. Need more? Okay give me a hint, recipe or idea for cooking amazing beef and I will give you another entry. Let's get out there and COOK, COOK, COOK!Related articles

Books & Giveaway
It is a quiet day. Wet is threatening us. We may actually see something fall from the sky and dampen the earth. Of course these are the days that I love to curl up in a soft spot and read. So I thought I would share a few more good reads with you. And offer one for someone to take home with them too.
I love teaching the kiddos. And there has been so many changes in our coast line of the Gulf of Mexico with the oil spill that we had there. So how do you explain that to a child? Patti Pelican and The Gulf Oil Spill is one way to do just that. With bright paintings and a audio CD that has a sing-a-long with it, there is a lot of information to share here. We had met Patti when we read Salty Seas. I was so happy to have a way to explain to the kiddos how important it is we clean up after ourselves. Birds, fish and animals can not correct the pollution that people create. So when a disaster of this nature happens, it is of top priority that all is done to help the environment.
I also have been curled up with The Canary List. Here a 12 year old girl who has made the rounds of foster homes does her best to avoid the evil that is lurking around her. It seems that she has been placed in classes for challenged kids. But others do not realize that she can sense something they can not see, something dark. As the story progresses and secrets manage to unfold, teacher Crockett Grey finds that his student Jamie Piper has a strange gift. One that is taking him into dark conspiracies guarded by those in power. So how does he help her and know when to dig a little deeper? I was brought into this story, page by page. And today is just the kind of day to dig on in once again. Finding the secrets to be revealed.
And my last one is the one I want to share with you. It was a great wild wacky and weird read. Just the kind of off center book that has you wondering what is happening with the characters still. This is Just Exactly Like You is a great debut novel from the man's view of wonder when a marriage starts falling apart. Jack Lang does not understand why his wife is gone. Or how she can not see how life is never going to be all pat and nice. But that instead the house will be unfinished, the marriage will not always work and their son will never be like everyone else. He is sitting at home with their autistic son, looking at the house across the street. The house he bought. Thinking of how his wife is living across town with his best friend. And not quite getting the whole picture into focus. I think you might just want to read this one yourself. Figure out if life is smooth or do we all have these internal conversations that no one else should ever hear? You can get this book by leaving me a comment. Just tell me one thought of how life is not always the way it looks from the outside. Make sure you leave your email so I can notify the winner too! And for me? Well my internal conversation is always wondering why I am the only one who sees the puddle on the floor when a pet has an accident. How does everyone else miss this and NEVER step in it either.
I wish to thank those who sent me these books to review. It is always my pleasure. And of course, they do not pay me to read. That is my own personal pleasure. Nor do they pay for my thoughts...just happy to give them freely.

Where Did Monday Go?
I have been pretty busy of late. But enjoying all that has been going on as well. College Girl is on her last week of finals for the year. We are all waiting with baited breath (doesn't that sound fishy?) to see if she gets a summer theater internship. Fingers are crossed for Dallas Shakespeare in the Park. It would be perfect for her. Housing with a family friend close by and a theater she is pretty familiar with too.
Our Wee One is back up in Missouri cleaning up a few things. I can't wait til she makes it back here. It looks pretty good that she is going to move to Texas and that would make all of us happy. I am sure her family in Missouri will not be as thrilled. But it is time for her to spread those wings some and see the rest of her family here too. The Gentleman is having a rough time of it though. Prayers for him please. He does have cancer on that cyst in his throat. We are all worried as to how bad it is. Of course we also all have to wait on his appointments to know just what will be done. So keep him in mind.
By the way, did you see the Dinosaur Train giveaway, All Aboard!, over in the side column? Go enter. Easy peasy, just leave a comment with that post. Not hard is it. And congrats to Jenjo3d for winning the Mother's Day giveaway. I have another one for y'all coming up too. Actually I know of 4 more to post. Pretty cool!In the mean time I did get a few more books finished this week. One is for College Girl since she is a year away from graduating. Lissa Raines wrote 8 Crucial Realities: Successful Choices for Graduates. I am glad as it is a pretty scary thing to look at. Having been in a formal school system for over 16 years one is never too sure of the next steps. I know that CG is tired of being alone too. So she has been searching for someone to date. Not as easy as it seems when you have set ideas. She is atypical in her recreation so she does not fit in too well around here. Between that and focusing on studies and future career guides, it can be quite a roller coaster ride of uncertainty. Thankfully she can have this book to help her create her own guidelines. Not a bad gift to give the future grad.
Another one that I have so loved this week was A Dog Named Slugger. Now I have read a little on service dogs before. And it always takes me back how amazing they are. The bond between an owner and their pets is always one that is filled with love and mutual respect. But when that animal is your arms, legs or eyes...there is much more there. Trust that they will take care of you. And pride in the abilities that they have. I love our own yellow lab, Penny Bright. She is amazing in how gentle she can be with me. But no where does she manage to do the feats of Slugger for Leigh Brill. It is with ease and grace that she shares her tale of Slugger and later on Kendra who have been her friends, service dogs and help mates for so long.
I want to thank the those who have sent me these great books to review. It is an amazing thing to have companies and authors help supply your passion. And I thank my lucky starts that you also enjoy hearing about a good book too. I appreciate the complete process and hope you do too.
Shiney Mom's Day
Well I want to share my mom's day gift to myself. It was something I have thought of doing for some time. And I have to say the Other Mother has helped influence me too. So Friday when we were at Austin for the Texas Beef Council program, I went through with it. Ready?
Here I am all cute in pink.
And here is the fellow who is going to help me out.
With just a quick lil clamp.
Lift.
And POKE! (Wow look at the length of that needle!)
Now push it through.
Click it on.
And VOILA' I am bedazzled!
Just a lil different than before but still the same ol me. Surprised?
