Hey, That's Me!

Over on Giveawayblogs.com they are having a poll for favorite blogger of the month of August. And I am on the poll!
Can you believe that?

I am floored.
Ok, Ok, I am sure it is because this is my birthday month....hint hint.
Yes next Sunday is the National Holiday. (Wait, that is what Dear Hubby told me?)
Anyway, wanna give me a birthday gift?
Well then go over and vote for me.
Just so I can feel amazed.

BTW, this is a great site to list and find good giveaways.
I adore the folks at UPrinting who set up this Ning site.
You can meet potential sponsors for your giveaways here too!

That is just a few of the good folks over there.

Dot Com Here They Come

I still feel like most of the stuff online is all greek to me. I am never sure what works with what program. Or how to make your web site work? Mostly I rely on Nessa to help me. Honest.

She does so much to help me with my blog. I have had so much advice on how to set things up. And when she moved over to a dot com site I was just as excited as she was. Of course how she set it up and moved everything is back to that "greek" language to me.

Now there is help online. Well, that is where I find most of my help. You can find information on
web hosting with a click of your mouse. It is so handy to have a site that will lead you on that journey. It gives you a list of free domains, like here on blogger. It also has information on how to make money web hosting. And for those of y'all who are trying to stay "green". There is even "green" web hosting. Honest! These hosts use alternative and renewable energy, plant trees, recycling waste and purchase RECs to power their data centers. That is a great thing to keep in mind.

So when your ready for that big move to a dot com site, then pop over to find your best budget deal or one that will give back to our earth. Let me know so I can show up with all the balloons and food for the party. We will have a great kick off. And if you have trouble just call on Nessa. Remember she is my go to girl for all things internet.

Serenity is like having your mind open up and talk
without a filter!

You will so agree with her and just laugh your butt off.
I am glad as I lost 20 lbs just by loosing my butt.
Thanks Serenity!

THE YEAR OF THE BLOGGER

Thanks to colorcubic for this great image.

Yes I am declaring 2009 the

Year of the Blogger.

That means this year is for me and you and all the rest of us here online.
So take out your best memories, recipes, tips and funny stories and start blogging away.
And do not forget the Fab give aways.

Just like this one at Rhea's place.
She is giving away books, cookware, food and goodies!
I hope I win. But if not then maybe it will be you.
Go and see if you can get on her bloggy good side.

Also I have followed over and found a book give away at DysFUNctional Mom. Does that not sound like all of us. She is having her first give away. So let's all go and bombard her with bloggy love as we try and scoop up her goodies. Oh and she says a real princess is doing the drawing. I can't wait.

And over at SITS (my favorite comment site) we can win a
Keurig platinum brewing system
and $50 to go toward picking out your favorite K-cups.
Jump over there and enter and remember to blog about it too!

Erin at Jane for girls has the coolest give away. Here is what she says.
How cool would it be to have your kids pictures on their own Fruit Roll Ups? I think it would be super cool. In fact, we got a chance to make our own at MyFruitRollUps. There are tons of different things you can add to make your very own personalized Fruit Roll Ups. They are great for birthdays, graduations, even Valentines Day.

One lucky reader will win their ownFREE box of 30 personalized Fruit Roll Ups with a retail value of $38 shipped. All you have to do is comment at Erin's blog after visiting MyFruit Roll Ups on what kind of Linkdesign you would like for your very own.

Missy at Missy Made It has a lovely little Vera Bradley ID/Change Purse. And you can pick it up in her give away. I am new to meeting Missy but thought this was a cute lil purse. And her homemade crafts are adorable. Pop over and check out Missy and tell them Lynette sent you!

Audrey's Country Crafts has hand painted coasters in her give away. This lady has her own Etsy shop and there are some beautiful items she has made. But I am really hoping to win the coasters. CG loves raspberries and the color blue so this would go great for her dorm room!

From the Ravings of a Mad Woman

So what do you do in the middle of the night 3 days before Christmas?
Well first do not go to bed at 8 pm like a fool.
Stay up and brave the people living in your home (not family).
You know the ones sleeping in your bed while your outside in a travel trailer.
Okay, your being supportive.
Helping out friends who need the help.
That is alright.
And your being "with" your husband who has been getting up at 4 am for work.
But then in the still dark night.
When all are asleep something happens.
5 1/2 hours since you closed your lil eyes (tired from reading).
They pop back open.
Wide awake.
And your body says I have to go to the potty.
Outside of this trailer, through the cold weather to get inside the house.
So you put on your shoes (sleeping with socks on).
And wrap the robe around you.
Reposition the lil doggie back under the covers next to sleeping hubby.
And brave the winter winds to go do your business.
Once inside you know you can not go to the bathroom alone.
No another few pets follow you in there.
Flush, wash hands and now it has happened.
YOUR fully awake.
The lovely people who are sleeping in your room have not cleaned up.
So you pick up the toys, clean the tables, wash the dishes.......think about sweeping.
What the heck might as well as melt some chocolate.
(NO NOT KINKY)
Dip the biscotti that you made so it will be ready for breakfast coffee.
Hummm, make some coffee. (what the heck your awake now)
Check your blog roll.
Play a game or two online.
And look up and see it is only 3:30 am.
Oh it is going to be a long, long, long night.

My FIRST Award

I won an award! Yeah my first ever. So you know I am dancing on the ceilings.

"Oh, what a feeling!
When were dancing on the ceiling"

Photobucket

Thank You so much Nessa for thinking of me. Hard not to when we face each other's houses. LOL I am so glad you moved here. It has been wonderful to have a coffee buddy, a sounding board, a partner in crime and someone to love deeply in my heart.

Oh and y'all need to visit Nessa and see her son's new look. Reminds me of Alfred E. Newman from Mad Magazine.

Ok so now I get to pass this award around to some of my fav blogs too. Bet y'all already know who y'all are--don't cha. So here are the rules.

~You may choose five people/blogs to give the award to.

~Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog.

~One has to be a new follower of your blog or live in another part of the world.

So my five people/blogs are as follows in no particular order.

Texas Word Tangle-Rhea. I love her bent on life. And that she is just a bit crazed too. Can't be this Texas heat that does this too us????? So Rhea, here is a question for you?
A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms: The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

Pennies In My Pocket

Next is Pennies in my Pocket-Melody. She has some great ideas for savings, but mostly Melody is a real lady letting us in on the secret to a happy life. Did you know about this book? Like you it takes up places and teaches us new things. Take a peak and see?

My middle lady is an ol' friend of mine from high school. I so admired her then for her humor, courage and charm. She was not aware of the hero worship that was there at that time, but she is now.

J-Ramsey your an inspiration to me. Always have been and always will be. Her site Winding Road in Urban Area has a political/women's rights bent to it. She makes me think. And she is still a real woman dealing with all the ups and downs we all have to deal with. Good Luck on the bar this time.

My next candidate for this award is Mindless Junque-Heather. I know she is half of SITS, but her personal blog makes me smile daily. So if you have not visited her then do so. Read, absorb and come out knowing we are all in the same boat together. Heather, I met you through SITS but I am getting to know you through your own readings. Keep them up and take care of the TOE! Here is a plug for your sister site:

And "taking the fifth" is one of my new readings. I have just met Mer-All that and a Bucket of Chicken.
The first thing that I loved about her site was her music. It opens with Be Ok by Ingrid Michaelson. I automatically started dancing. And I always love to dance. So thanks for the great music. My foot is tapping, head bobbing and shoulders are swaying as I read all about her interesting take on life. So dance over and enjoy the tunes and readings. I thinks Mer is ALL THAT AND A BUCKET OF CHICKEN for sure.

(Mer--just so you know, I really have your site up just so I can listen to your music. Thanks so much for the selections. Twirling 'round and 'round to your tunes.)
