Welcome's and Tidbits

Hey our friendly family of bloggers.

Welcome to Texas sign, I-10Image by Martin LaBar via Flickr

I wanted to take the time to introduce three new blogs that have made it on the blogsphere.

So if you get the chance please pop in and say a how-de-do to these new folks.

Jayde's Little Corner
Terzula's World
Hmmm

I also thought I might share some info that has come my way too.

Tidbit #1--Gift Card Granny is the most recent member of The Frugals, which is a family of frugal living sites. Coupon Sherpa, Mr. Free Stuff and Mrs. Sweepstakes are the others. Gift Card Granny serves as the most comprehensive listing of discount gift cards on the Internet. Gift cards are not only ideal to purchase for someone else, but you can save money on everyday items by purchasing them, and then combining them with a coupon code from a website like CouponSherpa.com.

Tibit #2--A new announcement from MedSafe, which has just entered a partnership with D.A.R.E. to help keep our children safe from the dangers of prescription and over-the-counter drugs. As part of the partnership, the MedSafe’s cost, which is normally $59.95, has been reduced to $39.95, for a limited time. I did a review of MedSafe not too long ago and was quite please with this product and the safety if ensures.

Tibit #3--I would like to extend to you a special coupon code from Piggy Paint . The code of THANKYOU15L will take 15% off EVERYTHING on the site, including Sale Items that would run through Valentine’s Day 2010 so that all Big & Little Girls can have beautiful and fun Piggies!

Tibit #4--The results are in which means election season is officially over. It’s time to take those campaign signs off the front lawn but instead of throwing them away, why not put them to good use! Disney Family Fun magazine recommends turning those old campaign signs into special birthday signs for your children. Just prime and paint them “Happy Birthday Ryan!” and reposition them in the front yard for a very special birthday surprise. Your kids will love this new tradition and the signs can be repainted and stored for years to come!

Tidbit #5--CouponMap.com is an online resource which allows users to search by zip code, address, geographical landmark or attraction to view a map of local coupons from nearby merchants that are redeemable offline. PricePlease.com is an online shopping resource that conveniently informs consumers about price drops on recent purchases or ‘wish list’ items. SeatCity.com is an online ticket aggregator that allows users to compare ticket prices for concerts, sporting events, theatre productions, cultural events and more.

Relish!

Relish! Relish time! Relish food! Relish life!
Yes, there is so much that we can enjoy and Relish!

My newest diet aid is the shopping and recipe guide at
Relish! This easy to use (really), mom-run website helps you prepare healthy, creative meals every week! You pick from excellent tested recipes, a cleverly organized grocery list will be automatically created, then all you do is hit the store for five days worth of home-cooked meals--not one of which takes more than 30 minutes to prepare.

You'll find a whole lot to choose from including freezer meals, vegetarian menus, super-quick and slow cooker recipes. And you’ll find tons of kid’s faves that don't include the word "nugget." I love that they have the meals marked with kid friendly, low calorie, quick and vegetarian. So I can pick 5 low calorie meals for dinner and click my way to the shopping list and recipes. And I can purchase the majority of any weeks meals for less than $95.00. That comes under $5.00 a person for dinner.

This weeks meals will be:
Serving Size: 4 People
[A] Oatmeal and Cranberry Squares Dessert
[B] Glazed Grilled Salmon with Blackberries | Sauteed Kale Quick & Low Calorie
[C] Spicy Brown Rice and Shrimp | Romaine with Apples and Bananas Quick & Low Calorie
[D] Hong Kong Rib-Eyes | Twice Baked Potatoes Simple Gourmet & Low Calorie
[E] Roasted Cornish Hens with Apple-Cinnamon | Couscous with Pine Nuts Simple Gourmet & Low Calorie
[F] Hearty Lentil Soup | Sweet Potato Biscuits Vegetarian & Low Calorie

I loved having the ability to use this site. At only $7.00 a month for a subscription, I felt it was a great deal and diet aid. But I can do better than that for one of y'all. Yeah! I have 1 year Free Subscription for one lucky winner. Fantastic! So pop over to Relish! and pick one meal you would like to try for your first entry. (This is mandatory to enter.) You can also have extra entries too. Additional entries can all be done with a separate comment for each for following, having my button, twittering, links on face book, sending others to the giveaway (they have to credit you) and blogging about this great giveaway. Make sure that I can contact you some how in order to let you know if your the winner.

Green

As a book reviewer for Thomas Nelson, I have the privilege of reading many different styles of writing. But I have to give my applause to Ted Dekker for his novel Green.

I love a well written mystery, drama and suspense. And I also am a fan of a well told story. In Green you will be rewarded with all of this. Also in this epic you will discover that Ted Dekker has created a new series of stories, the Circle Series.

Green brings full meaning to the Circle Series as a whole, reading as both prequel to Black and sequel to White, completing a full circle. This is Book Zero, the Circle Reborn, both the beginning and the end. The preferred starting point for new readers . . . and the perfect climax for the countless fans who’ve experienced Black, Red, and White.

If you are already a fan of Ted Dekker's Circle Series then you will be ready for the climax. If your new to Ted Dekker's Circle Series then your can get in on the beginning. What a fantastic concept.

Now for Green. Green is a story of love, betrayal, and sweeping reversals set within the apocalypse. We learn how Thomas Hunter first enters the Black Forest and how it changes history. Here in this new land, yet one that is oh' so familiar, life begins and the story continues. It is the beginning: the truth behind a saga that has captured the imagination of more than a million readers with the Books of History Chronicles.

And there is also the web site The Circle. Here fans of the Books of History Chronicles have a whole world created. Ted Dekker joins his fans in a community that shares in the stories, blog and currently looking for new books of Green that Ted has left in hidden places. Look for clues here to find one near you.
