Annie the Mom of the Year

I want to present the "Mom of the Year" award to our very sweet Annie of Writers, Witches and Words...Oh My! I hope you will go over and read todays blog that she has. Then you will see why. Poor woman has been in some horrid pain yet knows when to put being a Mom first.

I am so lucky to be picked by Juls of the CRAZEE Scotts for the Lemonade Award. Now she did not make it clear as to why you win this award. Is if for great sales (attitude)? A sunny outlook on life (the yellow of the lemonade)? Or just cause I can be a sour puss? LOL I do know if came by way of her site that is filled with humor and a touch of CRAZEEness. So this must be because of that shared weird way we think. AKA Blogger Unite!


The Friendship Award was wrapped up with ribbons and bows into the loveliest package. Sweet Granny Annie from Writers, Witches and Words...Oh My! I have to say she became a fast friend here in blogland. And I feel blessed to have her in my life. She shares fantastic advice any time I ask. Then she is always there to listen too. Thanks Annie!

Now is my turn to share. There are all kinds of rules (as with everything in life). I am to pick others to share these awards with. And they pass it on too. And again, again, again......before you know it we all have these awards. I like to bend the rules, rebel that I am. So I now present these to awards to all of my readers. (See list to left of blog.) I could not have this blog with out all of y'all. So FRIENDSHIP AWARD to all. I also feel that we all reach in and put ourselves out there for others to see. We each have a "lemonade stand" that is open 24 hours a day. The LEMONADE STAND AWARD is for each of y'all to share and enjoy.

Strong Women Series

I have done 4 post in the last week about some very strong women. I would like to feature them all together today. Why? Well I feel they help incorporate the many facets of the women we all are. How? I will connect the dots.

First I want to highlight Nessa. Her post was called "Just My Opinon on Nessa". She is the mom in so many of us. Caring for hearth and home with the little reserves that come her way. As so many of the moms before us have done. Quietly and with a strong will these moms (Nessa included) have toiled to make a nest for us to grow up in. Where we remember the times of nestling in our mommies laps, the comfort of being tucked in and the reassurance that they will always be there. This is very hard work that so many women do daily with little thanks. I want to tell Nessa, my own mom, you, others and even myself--Thank you for caring for all of us!

Second we see Soojung Cho with "Quiet Art". Here is the beauty and grace that women hold. This that we do by nature and can quicken a man's heart and loins so easily. Soojung conveys that same tranquil quality in her art work. When viewed nature takes us and transports the image into a feeling that can touch our very core. Every woman has this same ability in the arch of her back, the line down her leg or the wisps of hair escaping her carefully done up hair. And while we so often do not notice this in ourselves, others will. Then for that quiet moment they stop and take it in with appreciation. Thank you Soojung for allowing your talent to be shared that we all may have those moments of appreciation for the subtle things.

Next there is the independent woman who conquers the world. In "Quite a Lady" Laura Diaz displays the strength that ladies everywhere draw upon. Laura takes the bull by the horns and goes out to achieve greatness in her life. Should we all take this same trip. Well we do. But in other venues. Rhea of Texas Word Tangle makes light of the quirkiness within each of us. Do we have aliens living with us or are they just our children? Juls herding up "Every Day is a Crazee Day" has pointed out that a successful marriage has more to do with working toward a common goal then just Prince Charming sweeping us off our feet. (Big Daddy we do know your the Prince!) And those amazing ladies, Heather and Tiffany, from SITS shows us every day that we all can make great things happen when we pull together.

Now last, and for a purpose, there is Annie Kelleher of Writers, Witches and Words...Oh My! with "Two Thumbs Up for Silver's Lure". Why last. Well it not due to age for sure even though she claims the title of Grannie Annie. No Annie shares with all of us our spirit. That indestructible thread of love, guidance and purpose that weaves our lives. Annie my own very personal thanks to you. You have made changes in my life by sharing yours. Ladies also hold tight to your own gifts within for a little while. Enough to get the joy out of them too! Then let your spirit fly, spreading your wings, gliding on the wind and DANCING in every twirling circles among those around you.

So I know this has been long. But we are all strong women. We are the moms, artist, independent women and free spirits that make up this community. And there lies the beauty that is share. I wish you a wonderful weekend. Open your doors and let Spring in. Open your hearts and let love flow. And most of all, know that the Awards of life are yours to keep.

Shake Up the Chakra

First things first. I was happy to be able to talk to Annie and Laura on their blog radio show last night. The love was all around me as I heard them squeal when they found out it was me on the air with them. Thanks ladies for making me feel so welcomed. I do have to laugh when Laura asked me if I had a dog that passed, as she saw a pack of dogs all around me that were happy. (I think I got that all right) Well I had to tell her that maybe that was because I had my 5 dogs all around me then. Well I hope that y'all get to listen in sometime soon. It was lovely to hear and enlightening too!

I took a Chakra test to just see what it would say. Kathy over at 1,112 diet journal did this on her blog. And since I did not know much about Chakra, I thought it would be interesting to find out.

It said that my root chakra and my crown chakra were lacking. So I wondered what that meant.

Base chakra

It says I am under active with the Base chakra. It is about being physically there and feeling at home in situations. If it is open, I would feel grounded, stable and secure. I would also feel present in the here and now and connected to your physical body.
I tend to be fearful or nervous, so my Base chakra is under-active. I easily feel unwelcome.

Crown chakra

It says I am under active with the Crown chakra. It is about wisdom and being one with the world. When this chakra is open, I would be unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and myself.
It is under-active, so I am not very aware of my spirituality. I am quite rigid in my thinking.

Well they have me pegged there, that is true!

I am anxious most of the time. Yes, even bold lil me is nervous. I do my best not to let it show but I normally am quaking in my boots out in public. And I always want to have a plan. To be 100% sure of what I am doing and where it will lead. Even in the unknown realms.

I am getting to do another letter post. I asked Miss Lou Ann to draw one for me. Of course she was gracious to do just that and sent me the letter "P".

I was drawn to her blog when I read her profile. I swear she sounds just like me. Lou Ann says "Maybe we are long lost twins with the same personality ". I tend to agree. Well there is one difference. I have only one child to her two. But that seems to be the only thing. Read for yourself and see:

I am a forty something mother of two great kids...I am a bit of a control freak ... I may forgive but I rarely forget...I will trust you until you give me a reason not to... I am a planner and like to live by a schedule... I am hard working and believe that nothing comes for free... I am moody and sarcastic and sometimes bossy... I'm a hard to get to know at first... I am punctual and tardiness is an irritant... I am honest... I am trustworthy....I am domesticated... I am a bit of a clean and organizing freak... That's about sums up ME!

So I am challenged to write ten things I love that started with the letter "P". Of course I would never follow the rules. So I am going to post 10 things that I love about today. Why today, Friday the 13th? Well I have not said much lately but it is back to court for the TF today. And I am to testify too! So I feel maybe I need to think of all the good things today instead of worry.

Here it goes. I hope I can do this?????

1. Punctual--The Judge here is very punctual. And with that we may not be there for the whole day. It can be quite exhausting.

2. Pretty--The TF mom is very pretty. I admire how well she can do her hair and makeup. I always feel so sloppy in this category.

3. Party--If things go as we hope for there will be a party for sure. We have not seen the babies in a month. Their mom is going crazy because she has not either.

4. Purse--I need to make sure I have some tissues in my purse. My nose always seems to run when I am at the court house.

5. Popular--The TF mom does not have family here at all. My mom and Nessa are joining me to help her feel more popular. She feels so lost sitting there alone when her soon to be ex has family all around him.

6. Portly--Ok my own lil giggle here. But I am amazed how the lawyers and Judge always seem just a bit portly. I think that they like myself enjoy a few too many of the southern dishes.

7. Practical--I am trying to stay very practical. Knowing things may not go the way we hope. So I need to be focused on just doing what is truthful.

8. Prayers--There has been so many prayers said for this whole situation. And I know there will be more said today. Especially from "Grannie Annie" as she has been a great supporter for me.

9. Past--There is a lot of up heave about the past few months. I need to try and not let that effect me.

10. Positive--I am to stay positive for TF mom and the rest of us. I can not wait for this to be settled. But more so for her to be reunited with her 4 adorable children. I greatly miss her mischievous daughter, her peanut of a boy and her monkey twin girls.
