Showered with Gifts

My birthday was amazing. My best friend Jennifer (we have been friends for 36 yrs) sent me a Dell computer. WOW!

My friend Mary, who has the B & B/antique store gave me a sting of pearls. Yeah! Amazed. I always wanted to be June Cleaver as the perfect housewife and mother.

My in-laws are passing down a 100+ yr old piece of original craftsman furniture that belonged to DH's great grandfather in California. Beautiful and I will treasure it so much. I feel honored that they are giving me a piece of family history. I know I am part of their family

now.

Dear Hubby took me, College Girl and her best friend Thomas out to lunch at my fav eatery in Stephenville. (Simply Deli off the square)

My mom and friend Nessa did me a great dinner of sandwiches and snack foods that I enjoy and

then we played games. I so want the recipe for the Cucumber Lemonade that Nessa made me! And Nessa's kids showered me with stuffed animals for gifts. Nessa and Dan bought me a fishing license and Dan took me and my pink fishing pole out fishing for a bit Friday night too!

See---a wonderful birthday all around. To tell you the truth I do not know what gift I love more as each was given to me from the heart and was just want I wanted too!

Then I had so many of my bloggy friends wish me a Happy Birthday here. On Facebook I had even more well wishes! I feel so loved and honored to have so many good people in my life. I know this is how one measures richness. In the friends and great people in their lives. THANK YOU!

To Host or Not To Host

What do you know about web hosting? You see I do not know a lot about how so much of this works. Nessa tells me about how she is buying her own domain. Heck I am buying my home, what other domain do I need?
Oh, she nudge me and said I was being silly. OK, I know the domain is where her blog lives. I know that I can find places to help me with blog hosting. I still need to learn more though. Do you own your own domain?
So if your going to do your own site where do you go to learn all the ins and outs of it? I know, I know, I am a CD (computer dummy) and it is even worse now. Yeah, remember that new DELL I have for my birthday? Well now I have to learn about windows on it and on the net book. So there is Vista and XP and I am still just a MAC girl. Oh my word!
Oh and I just remembered all we have done to come up with domain names for Nessa. Like naming a new born child. How do we do that when we do not know the personality yet. Yeah, well at least you can get free domain names if you look around. Well I still have some learning to do. And as usual I am going to read up on this blog about it. We all know how much information we can find on blogs.
Well tell me about your hosting or not hosting decisions. Which? Why? What name?

Happy Early Birthday to Me

Today I was sitting on the front porch writing a letter to my brother when the Fed Ex guy showed up. Now that is not new as he is here often with Nessa living across the street. She is always receiving a new book or something to review. Actually I am finally getting a few myself. But today the Fed Ex guy seemed a lil confused. So I asked if I could help. Was he here for Nessa? Nope it was for my address. He then asked if I was expecting a large or small package. Honest I was not expecting any package so I was a bit baffled. He dug in the front, he dug in the side and finally dug around some more in the back. I was ready to go and help him dig too!

He pulls out this really good size box. Says yep this is the one for me. "No-no-no, I don't think so" I replied. Yeah had my name and address on it. But why oh why would I receive a box from . . .

DELL?

Yeah, DELL. I sign for the box and pull open the packing label first.
WOW!
It is from my very best friend of 35 years.
She sent me a new DELL tower hard drive.
WOW!
And now I am sitting here typing to you via the new DELL.

I am shocked, awed, amazed and blown away.
Wouldn't you be!
