Fame, Fortune and Fate

Have you read any of Susan May Warren's books.  I adore her writing.  You have heard me talk about her before with "You Don't Know Me" and "My Foolish Heart".  Well this time we are reading "Duchess" sponsored by the Litfuse Chicks.  And as you well know they send me the book but there is not any money exchanged and my opinions are my own.

Now it was a little odd as I jumped in the middle of the series.  This was the third book of the series and I did not have the back story to go to.  Thankfully Susan is a great writer and she took me on into the story line right away.  I felt like I was part of that wonderful era of movie star magic.  But as we all know magic is not real.  And when you hit the wall of reality it often is a dark place.  In this time frame life was at it's darkest for Hitler was in control and trying his best to take over.  Rosie aka Roxy shows us that you have to hold your head up high on screen as well as in life.  Often that the only way to get through the tough times.

About Duchess: Book Three in the Daughters of Fortune series.
When her country needs her, will she have the courage to surrender her glittering world and her one true love?
The golden age of Hollywood is in the business of creating stars. Rosie Worth, now starlet Roxy Price, has found everything she's wanted in the glamour of the silver screen. With adoring fans and a studio-mogul husband, she's finally silenced the voices-and grief-of the past. Her future shines bright...until the fated Black Friday when it all comes crashing down. When Roxy loses everything, she finds herself disgraced and penniless. Her only hope is to join forces with Belgian duke Rolfe Van Horne, a longtime film investor. But Rolfe is not who he seems, and he has other plans for Roxy and her movies-plans to support a growing unrest in Europe, plans that could break her heart and endanger her life.
