Beautiful Gardens

So you remember me telling you about Tropical Homes of the Eastern Caribbean? Yeah that wonderful vacation in book form. Oh how I loved sitting there, flipping through the pages and dreaming of clear blue oceans and beautiful clear sand. I adore the bright bold colors and tropical plants all around. Honestly a dream come true printed right in front of you.
Well now I am lucky to have a second book by Galon and Gajek. They have put together Granny M's dream, Exotic Gardens of the Eastern Caribbean. Oh how she loves plants so much. And as you can see from these photos they are like heavenly dreams. They even have a blog that you can go and see even more of their travels on.
I love the passion these two people have for the Caribbean. It is amazing to see the bright bold plants and flowers. And can you imagine how it must feel to sit there and have breeze blowing across the water cooling you off? I know Granny M is ready for a cruise right now to get there.
Which island would you want to go on? Barbados with the festivals? Grenada, showing off it's finery for all? St. Lucia that is so intimate? Or St. Vincent with it's quiet splendor? Well if you can not get there then look at the last extra chapter of this book. It has a step by step presentation in flower arrangements. Make your own beauty in a vase and play the free audio CD with this book and you will hear the background sounds of the nature in the Caribbean. Just lean back and imagine your there.
I do wish to thank the authors for sending me this amazing book to review. As always I am happy to receive the books but have not been paid for my reviews in any way.

Thanks Nessa

Here I am with Dan and Nessa reading a "hysterical" marker noting that we are at a Blue Star Highway. We are all fans of history and enjoy reading the Historical Markers where ever we go.
HA HA HA Nessa thought she was going to escape my camera but I caught her anyway. I just love her natural curly hair and her energetic smile. It is great to have a best friend and a neighbor all rolled up into one.
Here I am again! TA DA I don't care if I am in a bathing suit in a photo. As long as I am getting wet then life is good. We were in Colorodo Bend State Park playing in the natural springs and water falls. How cool is that!
Dear Hubby and I were goofing around walking across this chasim on a large pipe. Notice the stick to keep our balance. It was so wonderful to have time to play as adults and not be in charge for a little while. Isn't Nessa and Dan the cutest couple ever. I want to thank them again for the great weekend we had last weekend. It was so relaxing and a fun time to pal around together as friends, neighbors and

San Saba House

Here is the house in San Saba Texas that we stayed at this weekend with Nessa. It is a beautiful home and made my soul sing. I wish I could have taken all of my blog friends with me and had a great weekend sitting on the front porch drinking wine and yaking.
This is the children's bedroom. What a quaint iron baby bed that is there. Of course all of that lovely sunshine made me happy.
Here I am in the room that appealed to me the most. The front parlor with all of the roses, lace and sunshine made me feel so relaxed. I am not one of the formal ones there, nope curled right up with a book!

This is the downstairs bedroom that was the "servants" quarters. Don't we all wish we were servants here!

The front entrance hall with a massive staircase. Here is the setting for a bride to be coming down the stairs to meet her future husband. Think I need to get a second wedding soon?

The front "mans" den had all the right touches. It would be a great place for the fellows to talk about the fish that got away or how beautiful that deer was that they could not bear to shoot.

Oh how I love a large claw foot tub to soak in. Yes I did sit here and dream away some time. Bath time ladies is not for getting clean but for relaxing.

And my dream country kitchen! How I could spend my days making cakes and cookies here. But wait, that is an original oven from the 1900's without a thermostat.

This was a great home to visit. I would adore living here. Heck I would even be the "hired help" for a fantastic bed and breakfast. Think I can get a job from the owner????

Cool Visions

Yesterday College Girl and I went on a fantasy trip to Asia. But as hot as we are here in Texas we have decided that we need a bit cooler atmosphere. So we thought that we would go for an Alaska Travel instead. It would be so wonderful to have nice cool temperatures for a change. It would be wonderful to have temperatures of 46 compared to 96.

I also think it is wonderful that there are so many men there compared to women. So what a good place to be pampered. Travel Alaska actually would let us see some amazing sights. They have cruises to see whales and other sea life. You also can do dog sled trips too!

What I would like is to see the Northern Lights. Denali Park has wildlife viewing, ATV trips and the Northern Lights Theater. How amazing that would be. But most of all I really would love to be cooled off.

The Idea of a Resort

Myrtle Beach SkylineImage by James Willamor via Flickr

Towers on the Grove is at North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina
and I want to go there this summer.

I have cousins that live in South Carolina. And they have often been to a Myrtle Beach Resort.

I have heard about how beautiful the beach is. And all of the entertainment that is now located there. They have done helicopter tours of the area. Oh, that would be so cool. I love to fly and thing being in a helicopter would be so interesting.

The Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resort also has packages where you can stay with them and get tickets to concerts, theater and even knights jousting. Have you been to a resort before? What did you like the best?

I do not think I will get to go to any of the Myrtle Beach Resorts. But if I can visit my cousins then maybe, just maybe I can book a special for me and Dear Hubby. That would be so romantic.
