It is a quiet kinda day so I thought I would share my latest greatest finds.
First up is a super easy great way to store those lil toys for lil hands. Just put a pillow case in an embroidery hoop and hang up. Easy!
Next for my two ladies who are in their first trimesters of pregnancy....Nausea Pops. Yeppers. Take 3 cups of strawberries hulled & quartered, 2 bananas sliced ,1 cup
blueberries, 1 cup apple juice, 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1 tsp of vanilla, 2 Tbsp
honey. 1 Tbsp fresh grated ginger then blend and put in popsicle molds.
Next there is a lil cafe in Dallas that has the best and I mean the best breakfast ever for me. It is Nazca Kitchen at 8041 Walnut Hill Lane. Now we wallked in and thought that we found a pretentious place but dang we were here so let's eat anyway. I love oatmeal so I ordered the granola and milk thinking I was ordering oatmeal. I also ordered a fruit plate to share with Dear Hubby while he was having Perico Breakfast wrap of spinach and bacon. Well they put down a beautiful bowl with a bit of dried cereal in it with a lil pitcher of milk. My face dropped. Oh well, need to eat so dang it I will eat my cereal.
Poured the milk over it and cut up some of the fruit and dug in. Wow! What hit my mouth was amazing. This was not some lil cereal bowl at all. But full flavor like I have never enjoyed before. I am telling you I want to have this for breakfast every day. Dear Hubby's meal was bright (in a red pepper tortilla) and yummy but a lil hot on the sauce so he opted out of it. (Thankfully it is served on the side).
Now we found out that we had wondered into place that specialized in food from South America. And I can't wait to go back. Y'all in Dallas go if you can! By the way they say they serve food for the gods.....they are not kidding!
Talking about food how about a recipe for Dang Good Crackers. Yeah it is down home alright but hey we all love going home.
Dang Good Crackers
1 1/4 cup of Canole oil
1 Tbl red pepper
1 Tbl ceyenne pepper
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
1 box saltine crackers (all 4 sleeves)
Mix all the dry items first. Then mix that into the oil well. Put the crackers on a big cookie sheet and pur mix over. You may wanna do this one sleeve at at time with only 1/4 of the mix each time. Let sit a bit and then place in containers til served. Get this done for Monday night football and the men will be all over you!
If your looking for that unique odd ball nerdy gift the pop over to The Unemployed Philosophers Guild. I picked up a couple of lil notebooks when I was at the museum. One for me and one for JD. Both were made to look like passports to great places. Mine was to Neverland and hers to Oz. They were so cute inside with info to fill out like a real passport. But once I went to their site I had to laugh at all the great items. I loved the Freudian Slippers! But I think I really need to get this set of salt and pepper shakers for our kids.
Isn't it amazing how the little hole in the wall places have the best food. There is a tiny place in Old Towne Alexandria Virginia that we go to when visiting my Aunt that is just absolutely delicious and only seats about 25 people and there is a small restaurant about 20 minutes from our house that has the best biscuits and gravy and it is only $3.49 and it fills me up. You can't beat that.
