Fine Dining

Well I have just had a lovely lunch with my DH and Mom.
We dined in a well lit room surrounded by beautiful green plants with lots of natural light streaming in. We were seated at an antique table with plenty of attentive service. And the meal could not have been nicer. An appetizer of pate', swiss cheese and french bread started us off. Then we had a lovely wild green salad served with crisp green apples and grilled steak sauteed in a cream sauce. Lovely steamed new and purple potatoes were served alongside with fresh butter and parsley. It was all topped off delicious hot coffee and cream.

You may wonder where in lil ol nowhere Texas we found such a dining establishment? It was not hard at all. We simply sat down in our dining room and supped on left overs.

You know life is lived in the way you look at things.

Time To Renew

Well I am into my second week at Curves. And already they have a "Time to Renew".
No, not fees or membership. But time to renew a promise to ourselves. Time to renew our determination. Time to renew our image of ourselves. Time to.....you fill in the blank. I like that the owner tries to have fun things for us to do. Last Friday was school spirit day. You dress in any school name or colors and you get a "Curves Buck". A coupon to use at a later date for goodies. This week we will get one for with our renewal forms. Later this week we will play "bingo" while exercising. All things for fun.

Some of the fun things to get on the back wall.

Well this renewal has a form to fill out. We are to list all the food we eat for a week. Oh no! After yesterday being so sad and pigging out on donuts.

Well, I did it. Ok, so what. I am not going to beat myself up on it. Some days are better than others. The weekly menu is so we are aware of what we are doing. I can go with that. I need some awareness. I need some resolve. I need some energy. And maybe I will get some more as I exercise this week.

So what would be your idea of renewal? What would you want to focus on? How would you? Wanna fill out my meals for me?????? Ha Ha!

What is a family?

Ok am I just odd or do others do this?

Adopt families? I don't mean go and get yourself a new child. I mean your friends are great. You love them. Your interested in the same things. You decide to just make them your family too. I have more "friend family" members then I do family family members. And I am one of 5 kids myself.

We have family reunions (and one is coming up this weekend for hubby's family) that are more friends than family. (my side not hubby's) For example my dear neighbor Nessa and her hubby and two kids just celebrated her daughter's birthday. To me it is normal to have them here, combine a dinner and have a party. No it is not their house but I feel like it is also their home? Did you or do you have a friend's that is a home away from home? One that you know you don't have to knock on the door to go inside. One that you can go to anytime ANYTIME and know there is someone there for you? Well this is my home. And I have had many friends who have made it their family home too. Actually I am honored that others can feel that comfortable here.

Well the reason for all of this is due to meals. I proposed that we combine meals for dinner here. Currently my friend is stoveless. So she is doing major MAJOR crockpotting for dinners. Cool yes, but not always easy. We have full larders of food currently. I am a food junkie. And it is cheaper to cook for a larger group than a smaller one. Or so I see it. I know that they will want some meals alone. Time to do their thing. But I think to combine several meals a week would be more economical for both families. What do you think?
