Well it has been a busy few weeks here at home with all the illness and sickness and yuck going on. But we are finally back on track. Thanks GOD! I am so glad.
Today Dear Hubby is finally back at work after a 6 week break. He had to go back in his lil 'storm trooper' boot but at least can walk finally. His toes are all healed up and looking good. And the Dr. says that the bone is looking good on the x-rays. So it looks like we are finally done with all of the foot surgeries for some time! YIPEESSS!
Granny M has been to church this week and is back to her daily trips to the coffee shop visiting friends there. Also she is still smoke free. So happy about that. We will go this week and do the assessment for her cardiac rehab too. It looks like she will be able to get her body back in better shape than she started out. But it will be a good 6 months til we are in a good all clear signal. And we are unsure as if the oxygen will be a daily part of her life or not?
College Girl is doing full swing with school again and has landed 2 small parts in the play 'The Glass Slipper'. It is good that her car is also up and going again thanks so much to our neighbor who did all the work for her. FOR FREE and (can you believe this) also filled her gas tank up too! What a amazing thing to do to help us all out. Thank God and bless this man too.
And last but not least, I am out of the house and working out again at Curves. I am beginning to feel like ME again. Hate winters and one filled with hospital stays is never any fun. I am glad I have been able to help out all of my family so but also thrilled that life is beginning to get back on track too.
I also have some things happening that I wanted to give you info on. As I love my books, movies and family fun times too. The first is that we helped place a darling lil chihuahua with a 16 yr old girl this weekend. She was looking for her own doggie and I had a niece who was looking for a new home for her doggie. Easy peasy and a match made in heaven. It was nice to tell Princess Emma how this all worked out. We also shared the book 'Our Rescue Dog Family Album' to explain that pets have ways of making new families. Many of us have had times where we had to release a loved pet to a new family. Not always easy but feels good to know that a loving home is awaiting the pet too. Showing Princess Emma the many photos and the way that each pet fit in was the best way to help her understand. (The 16 yr old is her cousin and she met the new doggie this weekend too.) Our Rescue Dog Family Album (Polaire Entertainment Group, Inc.) by Diane Pomerance, Ph.D., is a collection of endearing stories that covers the lives of forty rescued dogs, lucky enough to become members of her seemingly ever-expanding family, and the obstacles they overcame in their recovery. You can share more at Dr. Pomerance's blog too.
We also had fun this weekend with Princess Emma dancing. We be-bopped all around to the newest Kidz Bop 19. Princess Emma loves to dance just as much as I do. And it is great fun and exercise. I am unsure as to her favorite song but I just loved Please Don't Go. You can hear a sample of all of the songs too. They have music, web shows, contest, games and so much more to do with the kids. We just love the energy it gives us to dance all around the room. The best yet is the Kidz Bop radio...all free! I know that Tammy and Maureen will have it on with all the kiddos they watch. Rocking all around the play room. Who is going to join them?
I know that it is so much fun to be up and moving around again. I do wish to thank those that have sent me the books and cds for reviews. It is great how things work out the way they should. Life is back on track here. And I hope that it is going well for you too.

Snip, Clip!
I can not wait til I can make CG's youngest dog look like this!
Thanks to ambergris for the picture.Because the non-stop whining and crying is driving me CRAZEE!
As they say,
SNIP, CLIP,
CHOP, AND DROP.
EVERY NEUTER HELPS
A LOT!
Are you Ready?
Have you made all the preparations?
I have to get ready, soon, now!
What the Who?
Well it is always something new out there for me. Weather it is my husband to call and ask me to find out if it is Owl Mating Season? Or my neighbor's daughter requesting to see her mom's uterus? Questions abound that I am not sure I can answer. But I finally found out what the heck a Spoodle is.
Seeing Spoodles for sale brought some interesting things to my mind. Images of some sort of pasta was the first thing. Then wait maybe a dog. And there lies the answer. In Australia they are usually called Spoodles or in Sweden they are refered as a Cockerpoo. These dogs can be the result of mating either the American Cocker Spaniel or English Cocker Spaniel with a Poodle, or of breeding successive generations of Spoodles. And they are cute!
I found a site where they have a Puppy Cam right at their store to view the Spoodles and more. This is an Australian site so I can't pop over and pet them. But they do have puppies for sale nsw that you can take a peek at. (I am watching them play as I type now!) I did notice that this place also has dog grooming and doggie day care too! Now that is a job I could do. I have experience with the 5 dogs I have living here.
So what odd ball questions have come your way lately?

Make Room for "Poppa"
Oh my! Oh me! Oh Mary!
Yesterday was heavenly. I had so much bloggy love from everyone. Thank You! I wish I could just hug each and every one of y'all. Thank you SITS for choosing lil ol' me too!
Being a featured blogger is like being "Queen for the Day". And befitting any Queen you must have a royal setting. Along with that thought I felt I was on cloud 9. So my mind drifts over to sleeping in a bed fit for a Queen that feels like a Cloud. (You with me on that one?)
You see DH had both of his jobs yesterday and 2 different meetings last night. By the time he got in I was sound asleep. (Answering all the comments tires out even royalty.) Now I am as well loved here too. So all 5 dogs and at least 1 cat had to crawl into bed with me. When I say 5 dogs I am talking about 2 Chihuahuas, 1 Mixed breed puppy, 1 Labrador/Chow mix and 1 Labrador. They take up a lot of space. Poor DH could not bring himself to make them move to the cold floor so he slept on the couch.
We could use a much bigger bed. And of course it would have to be a bed for a Queen that feels like a Cloud. (See how much y'all spoiled me yesterday?) So I went surfing for one and found just the right thing. Honest I did! See for yourself.
Isn't these just the most divan beds? I know that we would sleep better on one of these than the ol' lumpy mattress we have now. Of course the new bed would have to meet with the approval of our royal pets. Since CG moved to the dorms we have her 2 dogs in our room all the time. Since they are now doing "sleep overs" my Mom's 2 dogs think they have to join in. I need to get back to just DH, me and my lil princess doggie in the bed.
Plus don't you think one of these beds would look so much better in my over 90 year old country house? I do! Besides fitting DH back into the bed with me--WOOT!
*note: You can find lots and lots more of these beauties here! You did not think I would keep this all to myself did you?

Well fellow SITS-ers I wanted to share a funny in my lil town of 2 miles by 2 miles. Not a big place but lots can happen in these lil towns.

This afternoon I was pulling onto the east end of town when I witnessed the most funniest thing I have ever seen. The Animal control officer was chasing a little black dog down the street with his lights flashing. Another city worker was behind him and every time the dog catcher would try to run that poor little dog up on the curb the other city worker would try and cut him off! I saw people standing in their yards shaking their heads in amazement! Came close to seeing two wrecks! Lucky no one was hurt. They chased that dog all the way down to the South side of town! Lights still flashing! I thought to myself does that little dog even know that he is fleeing from an officer does he even care? Poor dog was either scared or thinking "wow new playmates!"

I believe that if he had gotten out of the truck and called the dog it may have come to him! It was so funny! I kept looking for TV Cameras. I thought surely if Disney was shooting a movie here we would have read it in the paper! Dog in question crossed the highway, dashed across the parking lot between us and the car wash with the Animal Control truck hot on his heels. As the truck had lights flashing and was in "hot pursuit". You would think that they were herding cows or something. I think they need to give the dog catcher a scooter like the one advertised on Mall Cop only equipped with a fishing net so he can just scoop him up! Or just give the job to the wicked witch of the west you know the one with the bike with a basket on the back! "I'll Get You My Little Pretty! And Your Little Dog Too!"

The most hilarious part was when the dog catcher almost wiped out a chicken standing in the road! Wasn't the chickens time to go obviously. Too funny! I suspect he may go back tomorrow and get that chicken if he didn't die from heart failure and ended up on someones dinner table!! He was hell bent on catching that dog! Are you ready for the funniest part? The last time I saw the dog and the dog catcher and the other city worker they were headed down toward the square! By this time they were putting in some overtime. Funny thing, about half an hour later I went to the bank for change and saw the same dog hoofing it back without the Animal Control truck anywhere in sight. Guess "head 'em off at the pass" only works in old Western movies!! I don't know the outcome but that little dog was kicking up some dust I tell you!

But on a more serious note...It was a miracle the little fella didn't get run over crossing the highway! I don't know if that is standard procedure or not but it seemed sort of senseless. Sounds like they were just exercising the dog. Maybe it's a daily ritual. But I am rooting for the dog! Anyway just thought I would share!

SKUNK
Yes, I said SKUNK!
My good morning, I love you welcome from the dogs.
It is officially winter here.
Dogs have to out to potty and if it is early they will find a skunk seeking warmth.
EVERY TIME
ick
yuck
peeewhhhhooooo
Did I tell you we have 5 dogs.
All who can run faster than me!
And when they come in the house
(smelling of skunk)
they all run different directions.
One runs to the couch to roll on it.
Another to our bed to get the smell off.
A third goes to the bathroom.
(Must contaminate it too)
The fourth hides under the dining table.
And the fifth goes after the kitten.
(The only animal not smelling of skunk-yet)
So I get to do dog baths, me a shower, wash all the covers on beds, spray down the furniture, sweep and mop the floors.
And most of all--
I get to smell this lovely scent.

Well I am not sure if this is the end of the week or the beginning of the week?
Sunday
A full day to say the least. I did sleep in til after 8 am again. Whoo hooo two days in a row. But had an early call that my ex sis in law was not going to make it through the day. I am so sorry for her daughters and mother. I know she has hurt for some time and now that ends. I remember some really good times with her growing up. She always treated me well. What is better than that?
I made 6 pizzas and took them to my great niece's 1st birthday party. And carried my daughter's sister who is 2 to the party too. Yes my daughter's sister but not my child nor step child. She had a grand time discovering that swinging is not really scary at all but great fun. And was delighted to see my sister made a birthday cake just for me. One without icing. How sweet of her to think of me that way.
My daughter's puppy is ill though. Poor thing "puked" through out the night and most of the day. I have gotten him some pepto bismal and pedialite. I have used this on previous dogs who where ill and had good results. I am hoping to stop the upset tummy and runs so he stops losing weight. And to keep his fluids and electrolites up.
Other than that? Well cooked, did dishes, cleaned up after people and animals but took time to see a movie. So was good in that manner.
My darling hubby has been sleeping the majority of the day. But with him working 75 hours this week and taking his interferon treatment last night after 1 am. What can I expect. Poor man working so hard to get so little. Works a 40 hr job to bring home right at $100 a week after taxes, child support and insurance. Has to work a second job of 20+ hours just to get a little more. Does not leave him much free time at all.
Still not sure what we are going to do about daughter's car? Hope to talk to neighbor tomorrow to see if he can help us? Pray for that one!
Otherwise. Well, life. It is what it is. Good, bad and ugly...or better yet, it is what we make of it. And as I always say----There is always time to dance.

Dog Water?
Ok this is a new one for me. Dog water? No I don't mean putting water into the dog bowl. Nor do I misunderstand having a bottle of water for your dog while traveling or out for a walk. But I am unsure of bottled water for dogs. Yes. Water manufactured for you dog to drink. The Our Hero line of bottled water is the newest one out there that I know of. There are three lines of water you can purchase just for your four legged friend. Hip & Joint | Exercise Recovery | Healthy Aging Am I just a cynic. Or is it silly to purchase what I can get from the tap? Would you purchase dog water? Or dog ice cream? Yes there is that product too.
