Using my Noodle

Y'all know how I told you that the Grandbabes birthday is coming up?  Well today is TK's 9th birthday.  We are celebrating this Sunday at their house.  Her brother, Landon, turns 5 tomorrow.  I am so excited.

Well the Grandbabes love it when they come to Nonnies (that's ME) house.  We have so much fun.  Look at the Hip Hip Hoorah dinner we had last time they were here.  It was colored spaghetti with alfredo sauce.  They thought it was fantastic!

Well Quirk books sent me Noodlemania! to review.  It is a cookbook geared for kids to help make dinner with you.  I adore the bright colorful photos of some of the recipes.  I picked out two that I want to try the next time I have the Grandbabes.  One is the octopus that you make from a hot dog (you've seen this on Pintrest) on a bed of green noodles tossed in a white cheese sauce.  The other is making blue and red colored creste di galli pasta to look like sea horses. Then add in seasoning and crumbled feta cheese.  What you don't know what creste di galli pasta is?  Well Noodlemania even has a page telling you the different noodles.

Pretty cool.  Top that?  Well they also list a substitute list of noodles.  So if you don't have one kind you may have the substitute instead.  Also there is notes on how to color your pasta and get brighter colors.  Not all the dishes have colored pasta.  I just tend to lean toward them since the Grandbabes really like it.  This is one that we can go through together and pick out what we want for dinner.  Better yet, they can help me cook the dinner.  That is a win win situation, because every mom knows that kids will eat something they cook.

Yippee! You came to talk to me. Thanks.
You know how special that makes me feel?
Like I swallowed the moon and the stars and I just shine now!
