So what are you doing right about now? Sitting there reading while life around you goes on. Just a lil time to escape. A bit of time to stop being what you are. A break in time to stop, slow down, disappear or just even slide into another world. That is sorta what it is like for me when reading blogs. Popping in on someone else's life for a moment or two. Seeing where they are at while forgetting where I am.
Like reading a great book. You know the kind you don't want to put down. That when you are forced to you sorta shake your head to return to your own reality. Well right now I am doing just that. Honest to goodness I have a frozen peach daiquiri sitting here with me at two in the afternoon. Thinking about where I have been for the last few hours. You see Granny M had to leave town for a couple of days and the house has been stone quiet. Dear Hubby is working so and could not come home from lunch. JD is working back to back doubles. So here it has been me, a book and the most wonderful of days roaming around in another world.
Mark Murphy wrote The Shadow Man and I joined in on the Tribute Books Blog Tour. I love reading, I love tours and now I am a bit in love with Mark Murphy or better yet in his world. I am a fan of mystery. The kind that has you lost elsewhere and not wanting to return. Stephen King is known for this as well as Johnathan Kellerman, Tami Hoag and Lisa Gardner. All favorites of mine. I know that Mark Murphy is going to be sitting on the shelf right along side of them now. You know by now that I do not tell you much about a plot as I want you to discover it for yourself. Hate when someone gives away a story line to me. So let's just share that this is suspense caught up in a dream catchers weave as it rips into reality.
The Shadow Man Book Summary:
There is a devil in the night, silent and invisible, moving in the dream realm between life and death. And he's coming for you.
Savannah surgeon Malcolm King had a perfect life—a loving wife, devoted daughter, and a thriving medical practice. But when a random airport parking lot hit-and-run links him to a dead body in a Florida hotel and an acquaintance is found dismembered and stuffed into a garbage bag, Malcolm finds himself on the run as a suspected serial killer. But he's no murderer.
Or is he?
Who is the mysterious Thin Man who lurks at the edges of his vision? Are the ravens that crowd the skies overhead a warning of impending doom - or do they exist at all?
With the help of Seminole tracker Billy Littlebear, Malcolm tries to untangle the web of clues left behind by a mysterious chameleon-like killer known as the Shadow Man. But will he be too late?
The Shadow Man is a complex, atmospheric thriller in the tradition of Stephen King. Darkly evocative and relentless in its twists and turns, it dares the reader to put it down - even for a minute.

A physician currently living in Savannah, Georgia, Mark Murphy is also a lifelong award-winning writer. In the midst of a busy medical career which included several academic publications, Dr. Murphy’s decision to attend the Iowa Summer Writing Festival led to the inclusion of a short story, "The Funeral," in a 2004 collection of works entitled O! Georgia! A well-received regular newspaper column in the Savannah Morning News followed. The Shadow Man is his first novel.
