I Think...I Think Again

"I think therefore I am."

"You are what you eat."

"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."

"
We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies."

I am sure you have heard of these quotes and may have said them to yourself too. I know that I have had so hard to learn self speak. When I was much younger (age is creeping up on me), I would put a new self confidence quote on my closet door each night. Each morning I would not allow myself to dress til I read each quote on the door. Before I knew it I had tons of quotes and quite a long time to stand in my all in all waiting to dress. Now that had a great effect on me. First I started to really learn that I was pretty good. And second that my body was not so bad after all.

Well I am using that very same type of thought in "The Beck Diet Solution" It is a way to train your brain to think like a thin person. And I promise you, there is a difference. It is a day by day, week by week work book to help you relearn how to look at yourself. And not just the "Oh I like myself" things. But instead the harder ones (at least for me). How to look at food for nourishment instead of entertainment. And it goes from square one of laying the groundwork for a diet and lifestyle change on to how to prepared and start your diet. They also help you from sabotaging yourself, overcoming those hurdles and acquiring new skills.

Having been on the diet track for over a year now and still yo-yo'ing, I am grateful for a "diet" book that does not just say eat this and do that. Instead it is helping me change my mental outlook. I love that it is also put out by Beck Institute. They have been training in cognitive behavior therapy for some time now. Working with the health field and those allied with them. They also help with clinics who work with soldiers and veterans as well as the mental health field. You can find them on Facebook, Twitter and their own Blog.
