Today has been a red letter day in most ways. I have had tons of fun opening the goodies that has come to me through the mail, UPS and Fed Ex guys. And I just had to share with you my recent haul....I mean gifts!
First off, Tracy from The Crazy Suburban Mom sent me a surprise box. Tracy and I seem to have a mutual admiration for each other's blogs and enjoy many of the same things. This time I had a nice lil box show up with a surprise inside.
It is a collection of The Homemaker's Encyclopedia books from the 1950's. I love this time frame. I always wanted to be the housewife in the shirt dress, heels and pearls.
But alas, I just have to be regular ol' me and live through the books that Tracy sent me. They are great titles. "Needlecraft for the Home", "Decorating Handbook" and "Food-Buying and Meal-Planning". It seems they read many of the blogs that are around these days. I see plenty online that goes right back to these ideas. Doing it yourself with pride while living a frugal lifestyle. Tracy thank you, thank you, thank you.......did you hear me squeal with joy when I opened the box?
Next I had a package from a friend that I have know since Jr. High. This gentleman was once my beau. Now he is my pen pal. And he knows that my birthday is coming up. (I wondered if he told Tracy too, since I received the books?) I had a lovely birthday card and a hand crocheted light blue purse. Such dainty work!
I love it! I can not wait to use it going out of an evening. Gosh it seems to fit in with the whole 1950's vibe too. I can just see me with my comb, compact, lipstick and pen money in the new bag. Going out on the town to dance the night away.
Next was a package that I had been waiting for. I was one of the lucky ones to win a S'mores Ultimate Prize Pack from the Mom Bloggers Club.
I was so excited to see it arrive. They sent me the Hershery's Milk Chocolate candy bars (6 pack set), Nabisco Honey Maid Honey Grahams and Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows. Then there was also the coolest Camp Chef Extendable Roasting Forks to cook the marshmallows with. They are the coolest.
With the Grandbabes here right now we are going to have a backyard nighttime picnic. What fun! Oh and speaking of picnics...there is even more! I also have a package that includes a Coupon for a free sample of Yoplait Splitz, a Picnic Time insulated bag and a roll up fleece picnic blanket. That was sent by Yoplait Splitz and MyBlogSpark. They also have where you can download a printable .75 cent off coupon for any Yoplait Splitz flavor here. Top it off, they are willing to give one of my readers the very same prize package.
See College Girl showing off the prize package. Quite an ensemble if you ask me. The tote is quite deep and very well insulated. And the blanket unrolls large enough for me to sleep on.
If you wish to also get goodies in the mail then you can enter to win the above set with free coupon for Yoplait Splitz. Just leave a comment with your favorite flavor of yogurt. Make sure we have your email or contact information in case you win. Extra entries are always the same. Entries are with the normal comments. Another for following me anywhere....here, facebook, twitter...leave a comment for each place you follow me at. Make sure your email is with you profile or on the comment. I will have a winner within two weeks.
I'm so glad that you like them! I thought they were so much fun and I'm so glad that I could send them to you!
