What To Self Improve?

Did you know that September is Self Improvement month?  I did not either.  But hey we all have areas we need to work on.  So let's jump on the band wagon and see what we can do to help ourselves.

The hardest part about self-improvement isn't knowing what you want to change, it's making the change STICK! But most people fail to reach their goals for one of three (very preventable) reasons -- the goal was unrealistic, the environment was not conducive to change, or the person gave up too soon. I do not want to fall into any of those three catagories.  So what can I do that will be successful?

I could get more organized.  But being the OCD person I am that is pretty much done.  A few things could be tweaked but not too much needs to be done there.  You may want to check out http://www.onlineorganizing.com if it is an area you need to work on.

How about your personal safety?  Do you know how to take care of yourself?  It is one of the most important things you can do.  For if we are harmed what would happen to our families that we care for?  http://www.self-defense-mind-body-spirit.com is a place that you can check out for tips on how to keep your defense in place.

Brain Power

I can also improve on my thinking....my brain power.  As we age it is important to know we have to exercise our brains.  That is a proven fact to help from the forgetfulness that is ever so common.  You can find all kinds of activities at http://www.lumosity.com/ to help keep the ol' knocker knocking around.

I know that there are so many ways to go for self improvement.  But for right now I think I will just go for self worth.  That is the area I always seem lacking in.  I second guess myself and worry way too much.  I need to trust my decisions and realize I am not a person given to whims.

So what are would you choose to work on?  How would you like to do it.  Tell me what direction we could work on together.  Heck, maybe I could re-organize my blog even?

  1. It is funny that you are talking about brain power because I read this email right before reading your blog.

Good example of a Brain Study: If you can read this OUT LOUD you have a strong mind. And better than that: Alzheimer's is a long, long, ways down the road before it ever gets anywhere near you.
    To my "selected"strange-minded friends:
If you can read the following paragraph, forward it on to your friends and the person that sent it to you with 'yes' in the subject line. Only great minds can read this. This is weird, but interesting!
